Established Manufacturing Company seeks to appoint an experienced BuyerOverview
This position will suit a person with a good grounding in procurement, who has the ability to work in a pressurised environment and who has excellent attention to detail with strong interpersonal skills.
The position will report to the National Technical buying manager
Qualifications  

Matric (Grade 12)
Further qualifications in either a Mechanical or Chemical engineering field would be advantageous

Experience

Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience
Experience with on-line ERP system/s
Microsoft Office (Excel & Word) proficient
Experience with Capex/Project purchasing including scopes of work, budgets and adjudications.

Duties

Responsible for full purchasing cycle for all plant, Capex and other general office requirements including RFQ process, generating requisitions, PO creation, PO follow up until goods have been received and receipted
Liaise with internal customers to understand requirements
Liaise with suppliers in order to foster good relations with supplier organisations to the benefit of the company
Coordinate technical buying to provide an uninterrupted supply of materials and services to the relevant department at the best possible value
Implementation and adherence to the company Purchasing policies and guidelines
Monitor supplier performance and report thereon
Sourcing ability
Under guidance from the national technical manager this position will also assist and or be responsible for some transport and packaging buying on a regional as well as a national basis
