Job duties:
• Be responsible for operational and procedural functions and all surrounding interfaces. The role will involve project and business as usual development, the resolution of user issues and requests as well as maintenance of systems and related interfaces.
• Work in a professional and comfortable work environment where the core focus is on learning, growth, knowledge sharing, teamwork and collaboration.
• Need to work in a team with other .NET Developers within boundaries of strict project deadlines.
• Be responsible for coding of new software applications and/or the modification of existing software applications. This will entail the review and understanding of project scope, requirements, project design and IT development cycle.
• Support (issue resolution) existing software applications. Any newly created or modified applications will require support time to correct software bugs and will need to respond quickly to critical issues.
• Be required to communicate with business users regarding requirements, design reviews and prototype presentations.
• Have the responsibility of assisting other team members in the understanding of processes and technologies.
• Will be required to develop coding standards and adhere to the standards
• Will be required to conduct unit testing and system testing
• Will be required to document technical design and code
• Adherence to System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and contribution to updating the relevant procedure, processes, standards and guidelines to the SDLC
• Documentation Skills, i.e. the standard and quality of documents
• Communication skills both written and verbal
• The ability to solve problems
• Solid proficiency with Microsoft .NET and other Microsoft platforms, products and tools i.e. coding
• Demonstrated history of delivery of completed projects
• Maintain existing applications/websites
• Implement new solutions into existing websites/applications (primarily Microsoft Based)
• Develop improvements for existing processes
• Multitask between regular task requests, small projects and work as a team on larger projects
• Aid in conversion to newer technologies
• Work with all popular web browsers
• To participate in all activities of the SDLC with a greater focus on development, testing and implementation.

Reference for this position is Senior Software Developer which is a permanent position based in Illovo offering a salary of R 750 000 per annum with Medical aid and Provident Fund.
