Role details:
A Corporate South African bank is seeking to employ a Manager Exchange Control to Monitor and review CIB Operations’ compliance with exchange control rulings by using available channels to conduct the necessary audits/reviews. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years experience along with an undergraduate degree.

Job Purpose
Monitor and review CIB Operations' compliance with exchange control rulings by using available channels to conduct the necessary audits/reviews.
Partner with business to ensure compliance with exchange control regulations/rulings.
The individual is responsible for proactively dealing with exchange control related matters in conjunction with the respective business units so as to resolve any existing breach or mitigate any potential breach.

 
Key Result Areas
Ensure compliance of CIB Ops business units to SARB exchange control rules and regulations.
Excon monitoring, review and audits.
Develop annual department plans for delivery of audit plans.
Ensure that various departments adhere to specified turnaround times on the necessary Excon reporting.
Ensure action plans are created and managed to reduce/prevent exchange control breaches – the individual may be responsible for creating and managing these plans themselves.
Track and highlight training requirements for departments not adhering to the turnaround times and policies and manage areas of non compliance and escalate when necessary.
Reduce breaches in exchange control rulings through facilitation of system enhancements.
Provide guidance on specific transactions to business units for the purpose of compliance.
Manage BOP Rejections/Invalids/Warnings.
Adherence to ISO 9001:2008.
Stakeholder management.
Trend analysis incorporated in reporting/dashboards.
Manage staff according to CIB performance management standards to achieve departmental objectives.
Provide support to CMA countries and Zimbabwe with respect to their Exchange Control issues.
Occasional regional travel will be required.

 
Qualifications
International and local BOP systems, preferable.
Exchange Control knowledge a must.
General foreign exchange product knowledge, preferable.
SWIFT knowledge, preferable.
Undergraduate degree.
Computer literate and have a good working knowledge of MS Office suite.

 
Experience
1 years foreign exchange experience, preferable.
3 – 5 years BOP reporting experience, preferable.
3 – 5 years exchange control regulations/rulings experience, preferable.
1 – 2 years staff supervisory or management experience.
Auditing experience preferable.
