A Multinational Corporate Banki is seeking to employ two (2) BUSINESS ANALYSTS to understand and analyse Bank’s relevant business processes, functions and business requirements. The ideal candidate will have completed a Degree or Diploma in computer science, commerce or business administration along with a minimum of 3 years experience.

Job purpose
To understand and analyse Bank's relevant business processes, functions and business requirements
To conduct requirements elicitation and documentation of design, development, analysis and testing of business enabling solutions

 
Accountability
Business Analyst is accountable for
Quality of business requirements gathering
Mapping  of business components to application components
Liaising  between the business and the value chain stakeholders
Recommend improvements in business processes
Identification of  the possible impact of business triggers on the Business Architecture and communicate same to the relevant team
Identify opportunities to automate business processes.

 
Key responsibilities
Plan & Organise
Align with corporate/enterprise information & architecture model for applications and decision support systems.
Analyse, document and model business process.
Participate in understanding and gathering of business requirements.
Analyse and understand the requirements and needs of the Customer Offering and other internal customer areas in order to convert the strategic requirements into a business case.
Conducts scenario analysis / gap analysis and impact analysis.
Identify and examine business needs and determine timely and effective solutions to business functions and processes
Identify areas/ opportunities of improvement
Review and edit requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution.
Develop functional specifications and system design specifications.

 
Deliver & Support                               
Raise risk, issues and escalations.
Review of changes to project scope and provide advice on impact to project timelines, solution scope and functional resource requirements to the project/programme manager.
Provide architecture with solution options and recommend the appropriate solution to achieve the business requirements.
Adhere to the methodology that is appropriate for the project/programme. Participate in Quality reviews and implement corrective measures to ensure compliance and/or to enhance the solution.Provide inputs to systems integration testing.
Coordinate, facilitate and if required undertake user acceptance testing; conduct internal testing of system to ensure functionality and that system meets all clients' requirements.
Collaborate with delivery managers in ensuring all functional requirements are addressed during implementation.
Document Test Plans and coordination of overall coordination of user acceptance testing and training.Provide inputs to relevant teams for continuous improvement.


Report on status and progress.Ensure accurate and complete delivery with-in TQB.
Participate and facilitate document reviews.

Mentor, educate and coach team members.
Report on status and progress of team and of own deliverables.
Ensure accurate and complete delivery with-in TQB for own and team deliverables.
Review documentation of team deliverables.

 
Additional Responsibilities of Level 3 Business Analyst
Monitor the business sector, industry, technology, infrastructure, legal and regulatory environment trends.Understand emerging offerings, tools, processes and trends impacting the business.


Review documentation prepared by Level 1 and 2 Business Analyst's.

Develop and manage relationships with project managers within the Programme and Project Management Competency group, peer business analysts, Analysis Service Line Lead, Enablement group, BU IT Heads, various IT stakeholders, relevant business owners, process owners, business architecture team other internal business partners, end users and stakeholders that form part of the solution delivery process.
Manage business stakeholder relationship related to projects and programmes.
Manage relationships with key stakeholders including developers and testers
Manage inter-dependencies between IT internal departments to deliver the various projects

 
Required Proficiency Levels on Competencies
Qualifications / Knowledge
Banking knowledge is desirable for Level 1, required for Level 2 and Level 3
Degree or Diploma in computer science, commerce or business administration desired for Level 1, required for Level 2 and Level 3

Recognised Business Analyst qualification desired at Level 1, is required for Levels 2 and Level 3
