A permanent Senior NetworkAdministrator position has become available with a client in the Automotive industry in the East ofJohannesburg. Candidates must have CCNP Wireless and CCIE Routing and Switching certification withat least 5 years’ experience in network administration for networks with 50 WAN links or moreThis position is responsiblefor:

The provision of day-to-day network admin and support in amulti-type network environment (LAN, WAN, wireless, satellite), including resolution of network userproblems, network performance statistics, diagnostic information, and site surveys. 
The maintenance and monitoring of network switches, routers, firewalls, etc., and activitiessuch as network address assignment, assignment of routing protocols and routing tableconfiguration. 
The maintenance of network facilities, VPN gateways, intrusiondetection systems, etc. 
The authorisation and monitoring of access to specific partsof the network infrastructure in accordance with established organisational policy. 
Includes investigation of unauthorized access, and the performance of other administrativeduties relating to network security management.

 
Primary Responsibilities and Key PerformanceAreas:

Manage security solutions, including firewall, and intrusiondetection systems.
Ensure wireless standards are in accordance’s with companyPolicy
Maintain all Wireless solutions
Design and maintain all of thecompany’s Network and Wireless solution as per standards.
Manage all network hardwareand equipment, including routers, switches and other Network Devices
Ensure reliablenetwork connectivity to all of the network.
Administer all equipment, hardware and softwareupgrades.
Perform network design and capacity planning.
Conduct research onnetwork products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement anddevelopment efforts.
Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors tosecure network products and services.
Develop, implement and maintain policies, proceduresand associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disasterrecovery.
Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network componentinventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
Establishservice level agreements with end users.
Administer and maintain end user permissions, andaccess rights to the network.
Perform Network backups and recovery.
Monitor andtest network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
Recommend,schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
Manage and/or provideguidance to junior members of the team.
Manage ISP and internet connections.

 

Experience Areas:

5years’ experience in network administration for networks with 50 WAN links or more.
3years’ experience in IT Project Management with specific focus on network and wirelessprojects
3 years’ experience working in the IT industry.
Experience innetwork operations, applicable standards, governance structures and frameworks.
Solidunderstanding of computer systems characteristics, features, and integration capabilities.
Proven experience in planning, organization, and development.
Ability to engage withSenior Level positions
Strong verbal and written communications skills
