E-Commerce Front-End developer/designer – Johannesburg – R 450k to R550k per annum
JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a web Developer you would be responsible for the design, configuration and implementation of E-commerce online applications.
You will work with members of the E-commerce, Marketing and IT teams to understand the E-commerce business, creative and technical requirements. The Front End Developer analyzes, configures and tunes the front end online applications and is considered to have advanced knowledge on web and mobile technologies

MIN REQUIREMENTS:
• Five years of software development and coding experience.
• Five years of experience with any of the following content management systems: ExpressionEngine, Drupal, Magento, WordPress
• Strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming and the Linux, Apache, Mysql, PHP stack.
• Firm understanding of internet and web service concepts.
• A strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards.
• Deep functional knowledge or hands on design experience with Web Services.
• Experience in building scalable, high performing and robust eCommerce applications
• Responsive Design experience – ideally both browser and mobile.

Technical Knowledge and Skills
• Experience with Drupal 6/7, Express Engine, Magento or Wordpress (CMS)
• Experience with emerg94
• Experience with integrating outside APIs (Al-Pro/Facebook/Twitter/Google Maps/Payment Processors)
• Experience with eCommerce and Google’s packages e.g. Analytics, PPC, Webmaster tools and Base
• An understanding of SEO marketing and related tools
• A track record of writing code that is clean, understandable and cross browser compatible
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Experience developing Responsive/Adaptive Design solutions (RWD)
• Understanding of building complex interactive UI uses the latest approaches
• Experience refactoring existing code to improve readability, code reuse, performance, and maintainability

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field desired, but not required.
• Project Management experience
