Role DescriptionTest Architect Permanent Cape Town A consulting house requires highly motivated and experiencedSoftware Test Architect to help build and develop a TCoE from the ground up, and develop it acrosspredefined deliverables. You will be responsible for maturing and influencing theenterprise’s test practice, build and implement the required governance and processes forthem. The Test Architect will be responsible for QA Strategy, Governance and for facilitating thetesting efforts of a large and complex environment within financial services. The architect willneed to manage the stakeholders from different areas of the business, effective collaboration andexcellent communication skills are a must. We are looking for a results oriented and flexibleindividual with a "can-do" attitude that can make the necessary QA assessments throughout thebusiness. The qualified candidate will take over an existing team of analysts and existingworkload, manage, grow and develop this team into the rest of the business. He/she will also takeresponsibility for the governance of the TCoE which has been defined. Job Functions /Responsibilities Establish and implement Testing and compliance processes for the Test Centre ofExcellence Manage day to day operational requirements Adapt and change the predefined model wherenecessary Engage with IT leaders to develop and implement an overall test maturity roadmap and planfor the organisation Establish internal IT service quality control standards, policies andprocedures Development and implementation of Governance structure and implementation according topredefined deliverables Provide guidance & subject matter expertise to IT teams on QA/Testingmethodologies and processes, and educate them on their responsibilities/accountabilities to achieveon-time and quality deliverables Contribute to automation strategy Provide technical leadership andstrategic direction for testing throughout the organisation Manage all stakeholder interactionsCreate guidance & participate in the review of accurate resource plans, project schedules andbudgets Develop and implement improvements to quality control practices
Skills and Experience
Education Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other relatedfield Advanced ISTQB in Test Management or Architecture Requirements: Ability to understand thegoals of an organization and suggest a test architecture In-depth knowledge of a variety ofQA/testing techniques and methodologies Ability to analyze risks and provide mitigation plansExperience across both manual and automated testing, as well as Waterfall and Agile delivery modelsAbility to design, plan, execute and monitor a testing process 10+ years of IT Quality Assurancerelated experience required with a minimum of 5 years in test management at enterprise level.Thorough understanding of software quality assurance and quality control techniques and softwaredevelopment lifecycles (SDLC), Test Automation Frameworks & various test methodologies. Able toeffectively communicate complex concepts and influence decisions Demonstrated creative andanalytical problem solving and decision making skills A working knowledge of programing languages,database design, and Program Management skills.
