A South African based dual listed company with operations in Africa, America, Europe and the Middle East is looking for a Group Financial Accountant to come and join their technical team at the head office. 
Qualifications

CA(SA) 
2 years plus post articles experience in a commercial role
Big 4 IFRS technical department experience will be highly beneficial.

Purpose

The Group Accountant will perform a variety of tasks in respect of the group’s consolidation process, monthly management account preparation; JSE and SEC reporting and the development of financial statement templates and management reporting packs for the Group and its subsidiaries. In addition the Group Accountant will perform the consolidation of the quarterly forecasts and assist with the 3 year plan.

Key responsibilities:

Performing consolidation of legal and management structures for internal and external reporting processes.
Completion of monthly consolidation checklist and assisting with the preparation of group management accounts.
Assisting with the review of analytical procedures on subsidiary results and identifying unusual items.
Preparing SOX control documentation in respect of:
The consolidation process and related journals.
Cognos Controller changes e.g. changes in user access, changes in account and company structures.
Assisting with the design and implementation of fully compliant IFRS financial statements template for the Group and for use by subsidiaries.
Preparation of IFRS memos on all technical accounting matters.
Assist with IFRS 15 project where required.
Perform consolidation of quarterly forecasts and 3 year plans.
Perform monthly accounting for head office companies, for the Group and its Investments companies
Perform other ad-hoc tasks as allocated.
